Can we sell/supply to consumers in other EEA countries?
All products sold or supplied by registered users of the Distance Selling Logo must be authorised for use in the destination European Economic Area (EEA) country. You can only sell or supply a medicine to a specific EEA country if it is authorised for use in that country. This means that the medicinal product being sold or supplied has to be the authorised product, in its authorised packaging and language as agreed in the product authorisation. In addition, some EEA countries do not allow medicines to be sold online in their country or they have other specific rules that apply. It is the suppliers’ responsibility to follow the law of the country that they are selling medicines to.

We offer human medicine on the internet, but the actual sale takes place off-line via the post. Do we still need to apply for the Distance Selling Logo?
Yes. Regulation 256A of the Human Medicines Regulations provides that in relation to the Distance Selling Logo, “references to selling a medicinal product at a distance to the public by means of information society services, however expressed, include supplying and offering to sell or supply a medicinal product at a distance to the public by means of information society services (and related expressions are to be interpreted accordingly).” Therefore, the activity will still be captured by the Distance Selling Logo regime.
